This book, published by the Telefónica Foundation, under the production management of Lunwerg Editores, and printed by Artes Gráficas Palermo, has been awarded the Photo Spain prize for the Best Photography Book 2011, in the national category.

“Máquinas” is a one-off edition of the work of the photo reporter Luís Ramón Marín corresponding to the 1910-1934 period, reflecting the author’s interest in one of the century’s most revolutionary innovations and an icon of modernity par excellence: mechanical means of transport, which would forever change our understanding of space and time.

Through this and other awards, Photo Spain seeks to celebrate the major role played by the publishing industry as a way of disseminating photography.

In 2007, another book printed by Artes Gráficas Palermo, “Making Time” by Thomas Struth, was honoured with the same award.
